The election has been distracting! But now for a distraction from politics.
San Angelo has an International Waterlily Collection which is actually one of the premiere waterlily collections in the world. They were at peak bloom and had an event in September. They were quite beautiful.
One last photo from the trip to the West. On the way to Montana, driving through Wyoming, we saw this beautiful double rainbow. I’ve never seen such a complete pair before!
One more set of Montana Photos. A short hike in the mountains.
The Yellowstone River hasn’t been doing too well this summer/fall. The fishing was bad (and now there is a fishing ban due to a parasite, which is thriving in part because of warm water, which we experienced). We decided to change plans and head up to a Rock Creek near Red Lodge to car camp, hike, and fish. There was a nice afternoon rain and I took several photos of the forest and plants as it cleared up.
I took a canoe trip with my brother, dad, and uncle this past week. We canoed down the Yellowstone River near Billings, MT for a few days. Then drove up past Red Lodge for some better fly fishing on Rock Creek. These are all from our campsites along the river. The weather was lovely, albeit a bit too warm for the fish.
